Funded by Montgomery County, the purpose of the program is to educate and mentor businesses in Montgomery County so that they will increase their recycling activities. Part of the mission is to provide access to other resources that businesses owners and managers can use to set up successful recycling programs, train their staff, save money by reducing waste, and comply with County-mandated recycling regulations.

TRI has an established history and focus on recycling and waste reduction and aims to provide individualized assistance to a group of business owners through business-to-business site visits.  It is thought that by consulting directly with business owners and managers, explaining County recycling requirements, offering first-hand experience and insight in setting up and maintaining a compliant recycling program, and providing recycling information and other educational resources, their waste reduction and recycling activities will increase.
