Ramsey and Washington County Recycling Label Program
For a successful recycling program, proper signage for recycling, organics and waste containers is essential. Without labels, there’s no clear difference between one container and the next. Adding labels helps making sorting easier for everyone by providing simple visual cues so that waste, compost and recycling are always properly separated.
Any Ramsey or Washington County business is eligible to receive free recycling, organics and trash labels without a grant. Businesses can get up to the equivalent of $5,000 in labels and each label costs $3 – $10.
If your business is a restaurant, the labels are printed and designed to ensure they can withstand both high and freezing temperatures. Printed with an industrial grade adhesive, the labels will not fall off as bins are emptied daily by custodians or staff.
Labels are available in English, Somali, Hmong and Spanish. Depending on your needs, many of the labels are culturally customized. For example: images of Hmong food on the Hmong translated organics label.
